Abstract
For the search of anticancer drugs from natural products, 12 plants were extracted with MeOH, petroleum ether, EtOAc and water. The obtained solvent extracts were screened for the cytotoxicity against L1210 cancer cells and cress seeds. Petroleum ether fraction of Sedum kamschaticum showed ED50 3.29 §¶/mL against L1210 cancer cells and petroleum ether fraction of Pseudostellaria palibiniana (1.0 g/mL) revealed the highest growth inhibition of cress seedlings and petroleum fraction of Sedum kamschaticum (1.0 g/mL), water fraction of Menispermum dauricum(1.0 g/mL), petroleum ether and EtoAc fraction of Phryma lepto. var. asiatica, Petroleum ether of Solanum nigrum (1.0 g/mL) and petroleum ether fraction of Syringa reticulata showed growth inhibition activities above than 50 (% of control).
